If you're interested in [contributing your own materials](https://training.galaxyproject.org/training-material/topics/contributing/) we'd love to help you share them with the world! Most of our materials are licensed CC-BY-SA so you're welcome to use these materials for your own course and classes! If you want to use a specific version of a material you may be interested in accessing them via [our archive](https://training.galaxyproject.org/archive/). **For Administrators** If you're a budding Galaxy Administrator, or an experienced one looking to catch up, the GTN is the source for all of those materials. We also work to make it easy for you as an admin to support tutorials on your infrastructure, you'll find a list of tools and their installation instructions at the bottom of every tutorial. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/078/original/GTN-400px.png?1718821926 -
Galaxy Project
There are many approaches to learning how to use Galaxy. The most popular is probably to just dive in and use it. Galaxy is simple enough to use that you can do many analyses just by exploring the interface. However, you may miss much of the power this way.

EMBL-ABR aims to: 1. increase Australia’s capacity to collect, integrate, analyse, exploit, share and archive the large heterogeneous data sets now part of modern life sciences research 2. contribute to the development of and provide training in data, tools and platforms to enable Australia’s life science researchers to undertake research in the age of big data 3. showcase Australian research and datasets at an international level 4. enable engagement in international programs that create, deploy and develop best practice approaches to data management, software tools and methods, computational platforms and bioinformatics services. EMBL-ABR is structured as a hub/nodes model, with the Hub located at Melbourne Bioinformatics (formerly VLSCI), University of Melbourne. EMBL-ABR is also currently exploring engagement with the European infrastructure for biological information, ELIXIR, and other relevant international efforts. One of EMBL-ABR Key areas is TRAINING, and as such we are involved in diverse projects relevant for bioinformatics training in Australia, with a current focus on Open Science and Bioinformatics. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/072/original/embl-australia-logo-colour-FIN-e1462860151765.jpg?1488905402 -

The University of Bradford leads the project with a delivery team at Cardiff University, the Earlham Institute, the University of Manchester, and the University of Oxford. The project aims to embed Research Data Management (RDM) know-how into UK universities and institutes by producing and delivering training in FAIR data stewardship using ELIXIR-UK knowledge and resources, such as the RDMkit and the FAIR Cookbook. It focuses on building capacity and professionalising data stewardship while leveraging the local expertise within diverse UK institutions – creating a data management culture change from within the institutions. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/652/original/elixir-uk-dash-logo.svg?1660752689 -

More than 1470 scientists from over 66 countries perform basic research into the molecular foundations of life. The institute offers a program of international VIB conferences in various VIB research fields. From day one VIB has supported and sponsored scientific conferences to help VIB scientists network with their colleagues. In 2014 the VIB Conference Series was launched to further expand these activities and support them with a dedicated professional team. The aims of the conference series are: to showcase cutting edge research and exciting technological solutions presented by leading scientist in the life sciences fields to offer junior researchers the opportunity to present their work during poster sessions and learn from the world’s experts during the Meet the Expert sessions to establish opportunities for collaborations between scientists during an accompanying social program including lunches, conference dinners and receptions /system/content_providers/images/000/000/054/original/vib_conferences_series_rgb_pos.png?1538645378 -

Protein, RNA and DNA data can be directly accessed from public databases (e.g. Pfam, Rfam, PDB, UniProt and ENA etc.). Jalview has editing and annotation functionality within a fully integrated, multiple window interface. The sequence alignment programs Clustal Omega, Muscle, MAFFT, ProbCons, T-COFFEE, ClustalW, MSA Prob and GLProb can be run directly from within Jalview. Jalview integrates protein secondary structure prediction (JPred), generate trees, assesses consensus and conservation across sequence families. Journal quality figures can be generated from the results. The Jalview Desktop will run on Mac, MS Windows, Linux and any other platform that supports Java. It has been developed in Geoff Barton's group (www.compbio.dundee.ac.uk) in the School of Life Sciences (www.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk) at the University of Dundee with funding from the BBSRC and the Wellcome Trust. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/091/original/logo-boxg.png?1524735946
