Strategic stakeholder engagement: from theory to practiceScience and society are deeply interconnected. Societal needs drive scientific research, while scientific discoveries create value through implementation in society. Meaningful participation of societal stakeholders such as patients, clinicians, farmers, and policymakers is therefore essential to ensure that research leads to relevant outcomes and societal impact. In this course, you will be introduced to both theoretical frameworks and practical examples of strategic stakeholder engagement and unmet needs mapping. You will receive clear guidelines and ready-to-use templates to help you identify and map key stakeholders, assess their level of influence and interest, and evaluate how they are affected by your project.Additionally, you will learn how to identify and map the different types of unmet needs addressed by your project for each stakeholder group. Finally, the course will guide you in planning tailored activities to inform, involve, and collaborate with the most relevant stakeholders at the right time in your research project. The course concludes with a small group exercise, allowing you to apply the concepts and templates directly to your research project guided by our trainers.
