Take part in the ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum at [BC]2, to share solutions for preventive medicine and the whole learning ecosystem of health

The [BC]2 Basel Computational Biology Conference, organised by the SIB - Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, will host a one-day ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum entitled “Building the learning ecosystem of health: from data tracking to preventive medicine” on 13 September. The day aims to foster knowledge sharing and collaborations between academia and industry around the technologies, data science and learning implementation related to preventive medicine and follow-up treatment. The forum will include talks from high-profile speakers, interactive panel discussions, and selected talks from across the biomedical research and healthcare ecosystem.

What to expect

The ELIXIR Innovation and SME Forum day will explore solutions to understand better the different components of the learning ecosystem of health and preventive medicine. From technologies (hardware, software) to data management, data integration or analysis.

What are the missing pieces of the puzzle to develop knowledge and preventive medicine? Which are the technologies, methods, processes, standards needed to advance learnings about health and increase benefits for citizens? What is promising? Which contributions are necessary?
These are some of the questions which will be addressed during the day, through invited talks, selected presentations as well as panel discussions.

The programme includes a discussion on solutions connecting the different components of the learning ecosystem of health, from industry (start-ups and SMEs, and large companies) and academia in areas related to:

Health data collection technologies (hardware and software) focusing on healthy citizens and/or patients in the post-treatment phase
Data management
Research or data integration and analysis
Converting learnings into healthcare guidelines/policies.
