Contents:
The OpenMS Training & Open House provides a practical introduction to open-source computational mass spectrometry using the OpenMS ecosystem. Participants will learn how to analyze proteomics and metabolomics data with OpenMS, pyOpenMS, and related tools, and will have the opportunity to discuss their own data and workflows with developers and experienced users.

Through short tutorials, poster sessions, and informal discussions, participants will:

Gain an overview of computational mass spectrometry workflows in OpenMS
Learn how to use pyOpenMS for scripting and automation
Explore pyOpenMS_viz for quick visualization of mass spectrometry data
Get hands-on with OpenMS WebApps for web-based data analysis
Learn about library-free DIA analysis with OpenSWATH and DIAWeaver
Discuss quantification and data integration with QuantMS
Receive feedback on their own datasets, ideas, or analysis challenges
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of proteomics or metabolomics workflows is helpful, but not required. No prior programming experience is necessary.

Audience:
Researchers, students, and developers interested in learning how to use OpenMS and pyOpenMS for computational mass spectrometry data analysis.

Learning goals:

Understanding the OpenMS ecosystem and its core tools
Performing basic and advanced analyses using pyOpenMS and OpenMS WebApps
Applying library-free DIA methods with OpenSWATH and DIAWeaver
Engaging with the OpenMS community and learning how to contribute
