The Workflow4metabolomics.org (W4M) online infrastructure provides a user-friendly and high-performance environment with advanced computational modules for building, running, and sharing complete workflows for LC-MS, GC-MS, and NMR analysis (Giacomoni et al, 2015). Goals: During this one-week course, participants will learn how to use the W4M infrastructure to analyze their own dataset. Morning sessions will be dedicated to methodology and tools.     ELIXIR TtR course: Basic genomics using advanced analysis tools https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/elixir-ttr-course-basic-genomics-using-advanced-analysis-tools **NEW DATE FOR THE COURSE HAS BEEN SET: Dec. 20-21** **ELIXIR TtR course: Basic genomics using advanced analysis tools Genomic Data Science with Galaxy** **December 20-21, 2018**, Faculty of Medicine, Vrazov trg 2, Ljubljana (Slovenia) Galaxy is an open source, web-based platform for data intensive biomedical research. The Galaxy Platform provides user friendly software for producing reproducible genomic pipelines for data analysis. This workshop will provide a 2 day introductory session to Galaxy software system. The course will be in English. The course will take place in the computer classroom at the Institute of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics (IBMI), Faculty of Medicine, Vrazov trg 2, Ljubljana. **The limit of participants is 20**. This course will focus on introducing the Galaxy user interface and how it can be used for basic genomic analyses. Sessions will be intensive and hands-on, and taught by experienced instructors from the Galaxy Community. We will cover the basic features of Galaxy, including where to find tools, how to import and use your data, and an introduction to workflows.     Genome assembly and annotation course 5 https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/genome-assembly-and-annotation-course-5 A **genome assembly and annotation course** will take place on **July 1-5, 2019** in **Milan, Italy**, hosted by the Italian ELIXIR Node in cooperation with other ELIXIR nodes that are involved in the ELIXIR-EXCELERATE task 10.3 “Capacity Building in Genome Assembly and Annotation”. Some of the most experienced assembly and annotation experts in Europe will be teaching at the course. The course is aimed at researchers interested in learning more about genome assembly and annotation. It will include information useful for both the beginner and the more advanced user. We will start by introducing general concepts and then continue with a step-by-step description of all major components of a genome assembly and annotation workflow, from raw data all the way to a final assembled and annotated genome. There will be a mix of lectures and hands-on practical exercises using Unix/Linux command line. After the course, the participants will have knowledge of commonly used assembly practices and tools. This will be an online event, spanning all time zones. All training sessions are pre-recorded, so you can work through them at your own pace, and manage your own time. A large community of GTN trainers will be available via online support to answer all your questions. The program covers a general introduction to the Galaxy platform, NGS Analysis (DNA-seq and RNA-seq), Proteomics, and also features a Choose your own adventure day on Friday, where we encourage you to explore all the tutorials that the GTN training repository has to offer, and follow those that are of interest to you. The GTN tutorials cover a wide range of scientific topics, from NGS to ecology, climate science, machine learning, visualization, and many more. There will be a mix of lectures and hands-on exercises using the Linux command line. **Time**: Monday May 3rd - Friday May 7th 2021 - every day from 09:00 CEST - 16:00 CEST **Prerequisites**: Mandatory to complete a short online Linux command line course prior to the event.
