  • RNA-Seq Data Analysis Using Galaxy

    26 May 2016

    Sydney, Australia

RNA-Seq Data Analysis Using Galaxy https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/rna-seq-data-analysis-using-galaxy RNA-Seq Analysis Using Galaxy is a one-day, workshop that introduces the concepts of RNA-Seq analysis. This workshop provides hands-on experience with RNA-Seq data preparation, statistical testing for differential gene expression, identifying novel transcription features and generating graphical summaries of RNA-Seq data. The workshop will focus on the use of Galaxy, a platform that provides a simple and user-friendly interface to bioinformatics tools, and will also feature an introduction to the R environment used widely by bioinformaticians. 2016-05-26 09:00:00 UTC 2016-05-26 00:00:00 UTC Children’s Medical Research Institute Children’s Medical Research Institute, Westmead, Sydney, Australia Children’s Medical Research Institute, Westmead Sydney Australia Data architecture, analysis and design RNA-Seq [] [] [] workshops_and_courses [] BPAABRGalaxy

  • A Tidy Transcriptomics introduction to RNA-Seq analyses

    27 July 2020

A Tidy Transcriptomics introduction to RNA-Seq analyses https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/a-tidy-transcriptomics-introduction-to-rna-seq-analyses This workshop will present how to perform analysis of RNA sequencing data following the tidy data paradigm. The tidy data paradigm provides a standard way to organise data values within a dataset, where each variable is a column, each observation is a row, and data is manipulated using an easy-to-understand vocabulary. Most importantly, the data structure remains consistent across manipulation and analysis functions. This can be achieved for RNA sequencing data with the [tidybulk](github.com/stemangiola/tidybulk), [tidyHeatmap](github.com/stemangiola/tidyHeatmap) and tidyverse packages. The package [tidybulk](github.com/stemangiola/tidybulk) provides a tidy data structure and a modular framework for bulk transcriptional analyses. tidyHeatmap provides a tidy implementation of ComplexHeatmap. These packages are part of the tidytranscriptomics suite that introduces a tidy approach to RNA sequencing data. The topics presented in this workshop will be - Data exploration - Data dimensionality reduction and clustering - Differential gene expression analysis - Data visualisation ## Pre-requisites * Basic knowledge of RStudio * Familiarity with tidyverse syntax Recommended Background Reading [Introduction to R for Biologists](https://melbournebioinformatics.github.io/r-intro-biologists/intro_r_biologists.html) 2020-07-27 17:00:00 UTC 2020-07-27 17:55:00 UTC Bioc2020 RNA-Seq [] [] Beginners workshops_and_courses [] RNA-seqTranscriptomicsDifferential ExpressionGene Expression R-programmingBioconductortidyverse
