  • Workshop + Summer School in Advanced Computational Metagenomics

    19 - 23 June 2017

    Bari, Italy

Workshop + Summer School in Advanced Computational Metagenomics https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/workshop-summer-school-in-advanced-computational-metagenomics A two-day workshop will precede a three-day intense training school where experts in the field will be delivering interdisciplinary training in computational metagenomics. We offer three different registration options: 1. Workshop only; 2. Three-day school only; 3. Both events. The workshop is open to all and will be able to host up to 100 people, whereas the intensive hands-on training course, for organisational and logistic reasons, is restricted to max 40 attendants. 2017-06-19 14:00:00 UTC 2017-06-23 15:00:00 UTC ELIXIR-IIB 1) Workshop: University of Bari Aldo Moro, 1, Piazza Umberto I; 2) Summer School: Una Hotel Regina, Strada Provinciale, 57, 70016 Noicattaro, BA , Bari, Italy 1) Workshop: University of Bari Aldo Moro, 1, Piazza Umberto I; 2) Summer School: Una Hotel Regina, Strada Provinciale, 57, 70016 Noicattaro, BA Bari Città Metropolitana di Bari Italy Metagenomics Bioinformatics University of Bari, Italy elixir.ita.training@gmail.com ELIXIR-IIB Researchers involved or embarking upon bioinformatic analysis in metagenomic projects workshops_and_courses first_come_first_served MetagenomicsComputational metagenomics
  • OpenRiskNet/NanoCommons ontology meeting

    13 - 14 December 2018

    Brussels, Belgium

OpenRiskNet/NanoCommons ontology meeting https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/openrisknet-nanocommons-ontology-meeting The goal of this meeting is to get a picture of the ongoing ontology activities in the toxicology area, harmonize these efforts and the developed ontologies therein, and extend the existing toxicology ontology to support OpenRiskNet and NanoCommons tasks. Part of this will be the ontological annotation of OpenRiskNet Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) as used on their cloud. Other goals include extension of the ontology with missing terms (if any), potentially write up guidance documents, and annotation of data sets (possible via OpenRiskNet data APIs). 2018-12-13 13:00:00 UTC 2018-12-14 14:00:00 UTC University of Birmingham office in Brussels, Brussels, Belgium University of Birmingham office in Brussels Brussels Belgium Ontology and terminology Toxicology [] NanoCommonsOpenRiskNetH2020 [] workshops_and_courses [] risk assessmentnanosafetydata annotationservice descriptions
  • Revolutionizing Next-Generation Sequencing (3rd edition)

    25 - 26 March 2019

    Antwerpen, Belgium

Revolutionizing Next-Generation Sequencing (3rd edition) https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/revolutionizing-next-generation-sequencing-3rd-edition After two successful editions (Jan 2015, Leuven and March 2017, Antwerp), VIB is proud to present the third edition of this Tools & Technologies conference. VIB believes that the revolutionary discoveries enabled by NGS are not yet at its zenith and that the technology can go much further. During this 3rd edition VIB will bring together over 30 top scientists and technology developers form both industry and academia. They will discuss emerging tools and approaches in several sessions such as: • Long reads, Genome Structure and Mapping • Epigenomics • Metagenomics • Spatial transcriptomics • Population Scale and Clinical Sequencing • Single Cell Sequencing • Emerging technologies In addition to a great scientific and technology program, the conference will provide ample opportunities to network during the breaks, poster sessions and the conference dinner. Also young scientists are encouraged to showcase their own work to the international research community by oral or poster presentation! Information for poster submissions: The format for your poster should be: A0 (841 x 1189 mm / 33.1 x 46.8 in), portrait orientation Deadlines: • Early Bird: 11/02/2019 • Late Registration: 11/03/2019 • Abstract deadline: 21/01/2019 2019-03-25 08:00:00 UTC 2019-03-26 18:00:00 UTC VIB Conferences BluePoint Antwerpen, 9, Filip Williotstraat, Antwerpen, Belgium BluePoint Antwerpen, 9, Filip Williotstraat Antwerpen Antwerpen Belgium 2600 Genomics Genotype and phenotype Genotyping experiment Epigenomics Epigenetics Metagenomics Metagenomic sequencing Transcriptomics Sequencing Population genetics Population genomics Mapping [] Evy Vierstraete +32 9 244 66 11 conferences@vib.be BioradBiokeLexogenAnalisBio-techneBGI [] 350 meetings_and_conferences [] Genome Structure Genome MappingEpigenomicsMetagenomicsSpatial transcriptomicsPopulation Scale clinical sequencingSequencingSingle Cell Sequencing
