  • ELIXIR Fluxomics Training School

    4 - 8 October 2021

ELIXIR Fluxomics Training School https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/elixir-fluxomics-training-school The first ELIXIR Fluxomics Training School is organised by ELIXIR-GR (FORTH/ICE-HT) in collaboration with ELIXIR-ES (UB), in the context of the ELIXIR Metabolomics Community-lead Implementation Study “Standardizing the fluxomics workflows”. This five-day course, will take place in virtual mode on 4-8  October 2021, from 9:00 to 17:00 Central European Time (CET). It will provide an introduction to the field of fluxomics and the experimental and computational methods used to estimate and predict metabolic fluxes. The course is addressed mainly to graduate students and junior post-docs, of either experimental or computational background. Learning outcomes include familiarity with the basic concepts, experimental techniques, data deposition standards and computational methods and software tools in fluxomics. The course includes hands-on experience in computational methods and software tools and mini team projects that will help the students apply the taught concepts. The course will involve up to 30 students and the selection will be made based on an application package submitted by August 27 2021.  Sponsored by ELIXIR, the course is free of charge for personnel of academic/research/non-profit institutions in ELIXIR Nodes. Registration fees apply for the rest. ECTS credits may be granted to graduate students of European Institutions upon request after approval of the involved Graduate Programs. More information on the school can be found on the school website. 2021-10-04 09:00:00 UTC 2021-10-08 17:00:00 UTC [] [] [] [] [] []

  • 3D-Bioinformatics 2021 Annual Workshop

    2 - 4 November 2021

3D-Bioinformatics 2021 Annual Workshop https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/3d-bioinformatics-2021-annual-workshop ELIXIR Communities enable the participation of communities of practice in different areas of the life sciences in the activities of ELIXIR, which underpin the evolution of a data, tools, interoperability, compute and training infrastructure for European life science informatics (see www.elixir-europe.org/use-cases). Structural bioinformatics has a broad impact across the life sciences and provides tools to archive, visualise, analyse, annotate, and predict molecular structures. Structural bioinformatics is traditionally very strong in Europe offering many software tools, methodologies, and databases, as well as community-wide prediction challenges. Its applications cover research activities from structural biology to drug discovery and personalised medicine that are all well represented within the national ELIXIR nodes. The meeting will be virtual this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Details of a Zoom link will be sent closer to the time.  Submission of abstracts for posters is encouraged, as researchers with accepted posters will be offered the opportunity to pre-record short talks for their poster. Authors of selected poster talks will be invited to give longer talks during the main meeting sessions.   To find out more about the 3D-BioInfo Community, please go to the website: www.elixir-europe.org/communities/3d-bioinfo   Overview of Programme: The meeting will start with a brief overview of the aims of the 3DBioInfo Community. This will be followed by Breakout sessions for each of the major 3D-BioInfo Activities described below. These breakout sessions will be held sequentially, allowing participants to attend any number of sessions they want. Next will come a Plenary session, at which coordinators of the different Activities will present their reports. Some slots for short presentations and posters will be available for some of the activities. If you are interested in contributing, please submit an abstract together with your application. The application deadline is: September 15th (for poster/short talk) and October 31st (for attendance only). • ELIXIR-FR : 4th Workshop Single-Cell 2022 (Roscoff-FRANCE)

    9 - 14 January 2022

    Roscoff, France

ELIXIR-FR : 4th Workshop Single-Cell 2022 (Roscoff-FRANCE) https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/elixir-fr-4th-workshop-single-cell-2022-roscoff-france Training : Single-Cell : Transcriptomics, Spatial and Multi-Omics (sincellTE) Deadline pre-registration: 15th September 2021 This one-week class focuses on the large-scale study of heterogeneity across individual cells from the genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic points of view. New technological developments enable the characterization of molecular information at a single cell resolution for large numbers of cells. The high dimensional omics data that these technologies produce comes with novel methodological challenges for the analysis. In this regard, specific bioinformatics and statistical methods have been developed in order to extract robust information. This course is directed towards engineers and researchers who regularly need to undertake single-cell data analysis as well as PhD Student and Post Doc in computational biology or bioinformatics that are interested in the development of methods and pipelines for highly dimensional single-cell data analysis. A wide range of single cell topics will be covered in lectures, demonstrations and practical classes. Among others, the areas and issues to be addressed will include the choice of the most appropriate single-cell sequencing technology, the experimental design and the bioinformatics and statistical methods and pipelines. For this edition, new courses/practicals will focus on spatial transcriptomics, cell phenotyping and additional multi-omics. Requirements : Participants must have prior experience on NGS data analysis  with everyday use of R and good knowledge of Unix command line. Before the training, participants will be asked to familiarize themselves with the processing and primary analyses steps of scRNA-seq datasets with provided pedagogic material. It is not necessary to have personal single-cell data to analyse.
