Norwich, United KingdomLong Reads Workshop 2021 https://www.earlham.ac.uk/long-reads-workshop-2021 https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/long-reads-workshop-2021 **This event has been postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The speakers were confirmed for our 2020 event, and we are hopeful they will be able to attend in 2021.** This two-day workshop will provide a combination of presentation of use cases of long read RNAseq, technology developments from the Chief Scientific Officers of leading long read technology companies, sample processing hints and tips from the experts in sequencing facilities at Earlham Institute and Uppsala’s SciLifeLab. In addition we will provide some hands on examples of quantification, differential expression and resistance gene enrichment sequencing (e.g. RenSeq). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be notified as soon as registrations and abstract submissions open. Who is this event for? Research staff and students who are current users of long read technology for the production of transcriptomic data and those analysing long read RNAseq data to produce genome annotations, differential expression analyses and those using RenSeq. We particularly encourage early career researchers and PhD students to submit abstracts for selection for oral presentation. The speakers were confirmed for our 2020 event, and we are hopeful they will be able to attend in 2021.** Single-cell genomic technologies continue to develop at pace, generating new insights into cellular diversity within living systems. This event aims to bring together researchers applying single-cell technologies across a wide range of species. The symposium covers single-cell genomics technologies and their application in microbial, plant, animal and human health and disease. Offering a forum for researchers to discuss the latest developments in single-cell genomics, whilst networking with other researchers with the intention of catalysing future development and application of single-cell genomics across the UK. The event will feature talks from invited speakers and selected abstracts, and we are keen to capture as broad a range of single-cell applications as possible. Topics to be covered include: - Single-cell genomics in plant and microbial research - Single-cell genomics in health, disease and development - Single-cell informatics - Single-cell technology development Abstracts We are offering the opportunity to present your research at the symposium. This will either be as a 15-20 minute talk, or as a poster (you can select your preference during the registration). Submission deadline for abstracts is 1 August 2021. All abstracts must be submitted electronically as part of your registration. Submissions via email will not be accepted Abstract limits are 250 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations) Presenting author should be highlighted in bold Abstracts will be reviewed within 14 days of the submission deadline and you will be informed of the outcome shortly thereafter 2021-09-15 10:00:00 UTC 2021-09-16 17:00:00 UTC Earlham Institute Earlham institute, Norwich, United Kingdom Earlham institute Norwich United Kingdom NR4 7UZ Earlham Institute firstname.lastname@example.org Molecular Machines & Industries (MMI) meetings_and_conferences
Genome Engineering and Synthetic Biology (4th edition)

Gent, BelgiumGenome Engineering and Synthetic Biology (4th edition) https://www.vibconferences.be/events/genome-engineering-and-synthetic-biology-4th-edition https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/genome-engineering-and-synthetic-biology-4th-edition Genome Engineering and Synthetic Biology are revolutionizing Life Sciences. Driven by advances in the CRISPR-toolbox for rapid, cheap, multiplex modification of genomes and breakthroughs in DNA synthesis technologies, the pace of progress enabled by these tools in the last years has been breathtaking. The first three editions (September 2013, January 2016, January 2018) were a roaring success and we are pleased to announce the 4th edition of GESB in beautiful Ghent in September, 2020. Travel Grants We offer 5 travel grants to international attendees, which will reimburse travel costs up to 400 Euros. Are you interested in attending GESB20 and want to have a chance on a travel grant? Submit your motivation below by clicking on the 'Apply for a grant' button before 24 June 2021. The organizing committee will notify you of your travel grant acceptance by the end of June. No registration is needed before submitting a travel grant proposal. When you’re awarded with a travel grant you will receive a practical email containing the next steps. Note that being awarded a travel grant does not mean being registered for the conference.
