An Introduction to R: Software For Statistical Analysis
26 October - 2 November 2015
Cambridge, United KingdomAn Introduction to R: Software For Statistical Analysis http://csx.cam.ac.uk1545967 https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/an-introduction-to-r-software-for-statistical-analysis-5b7d1c9b-1e47-4b94-b5b4-c90e3fecc35d The aim of this course is to introduce participants to the basics of statistical analysis and the open source statistical software [R](https://www.r-project.org/), a free software environment for statistical computing and graphics. Participants will actively use R throughout the course, during which they will be introduced to principles of statistical thinking and interpretation by example, exercises and discussion about a range of problems. The examples will be used to present a variety of statistical concepts and techniques, with no focus on any specific discipline. Important information: We have 12 configured laptops for use at the workshop. After these laptops have been allocated, participants will either need to share, or bring their own. These laptops will be allocated to the first individuals to express an interest in using them. When booking, please indicate under "Special requirements" if you wish to use one of the 12 laptops or bring your own. Participants bringing their own laptop will be given instructions on what software to install. Please note that if you are not eligible for a University of Cambridge [Raven](http://www.ucs.cam.ac.uk/docs/faq/raven/n5) account you will need to book or register interest by linking [here](http://marstons.bio.cam.ac.uk/course-booking/?CourseID=An%20Introduction%20to%20R:%20Software%20for%20statistical%20analysis_bioinfo-IntroR_26.10-28.10-2.11.2015_1545967&CourseName=An%20Introduction%20to%20R:%20Software%20for%20statistical%20analysis&CourseDate=26.10-28.10-2.11.2015&CourseDuration=3&EventID=1545967).'' 2015-10-26 13:30:00 UTC 2015-11-02 16:30:00 UTC University of Cambridge Craik-Marshall Building, Cambridge, United Kingdom Craik-Marshall Building Cambridge United Kingdom CB2 3AR University of Cambridge Bioinformatics Training All postgraduates Research Assistants and Research Associates who have had minimal exposure to statistical methods and/or software but want to develop the necessary skills to perform analysis and gain experience using R. workshops_and_courses
Exploring, visualising and analysing proteomics data in R

The training room is located on the first floor and there is currently no wheelchair or level access available to this level. Please note that if you are not eligible for a University of Cambridge [Raven](http://www.ucs.cam.ac.uk/docs/faq/raven/n5) account you will need to book or register your interest by linking [here](http://bioinfotraining.bio.cam.ac.uk/booking-form/?event-id=2759559&course-title=Exploring%20Visualising%20and%20analysing%20proteomics%20data%20in%20R).'' 2019-01-24 09:30:00 UTC 2019-01-24 17:00:00 UTC University of Cambridge Craik-Marshall Building, Cambridge, United Kingdom Craik-Marshall Building Cambridge United Kingdom CB2 3AR Proteomics Data visualisation Biology Bioinformatics University of Cambridge Bioinformatics Training The course is targeted to either proteomics practitioners or data analysts/bioinformaticians that would like to learn how to use R to analyse proteomics data. Familiarity with mass spectrometry or proteomics in general is desirablebut not essential as we will walk through a MS typical experiment and data as part of learning about the tools.Graduate studentsPostdocs and Staff members from the University of CambridgeInstitutions and other external Institutions or individuals workshops_and_courses HDRUK
