Galaxy Queensland Meetup
5 October 2016
Brisbane, AustraliaGalaxy Queensland Meetup https://genomicsvirtuallab.wordpress.com/2016/09/19/galaxy-qld-meetup-in-brisbane/ https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/galaxy-queensland-meetup Galaxy Queensland meetup is a monthly meeting of Galaxy-qld users in Brisbane. The first meeting will start with a 20 min talk about GenomeSpace tools on Galaxy-qld followed by a discussion and Q&A time. Galaxy-qld is connected to the Australian GenomeSpace server that can manage the Object Store storage on the NeCTAR cloud. A Galaxy workflow will be created that imports data into Galaxy, modify it and export the results to external storage. 2016-10-05 09:00:00 UTC 2016-10-05 00:00:00 UTC University of Queensland St Lucia, Brisbane, Australia St Lucia Brisbane Australia Genomics Bioinformatics meetings_and_conferences ABRBioinformatics
FAIR Data Management in Life Sciences
27 October 2018
Lyon, FranceFAIR Data Management in Life Sciences http://bit.ly/fairdom-workshop https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/fair-data-management-in-life-sciences Are you curious about data management, or how research groups handle their data management pipelines? Do you want to engage with other like-minded researchers in best practice for your data management? Are you overwhelmed by new regulations from funders requiring data management plans? Or are you a developer in the data management sphere? Then come and join our workshop/user meeting on “FAIR Data Management in Life Sciences” as a satellite meeting of the ICSB 2018 in Lyon France. It will be held Saturday 27th October before the main meeting. Registration is free, and is first come first served. Research projects with advanced data management pipelines will be presenting their best practice. Thought leaders in data management will be there to help you with any questions you have. Importantly, YOU get to decide on break out topics or steer discussion during the day. This workshop will be hosted by the FAIRDOM infrastructure (https://fair-dom.org), and bring together FAIRDOM users, FAIR platform developers, and researchers from across the world to discuss: (i) best practices in data management; (ii) cutting edge platform development, and; (iii) community use and requirements of FAIR data platforms. Our key theme this year will be integrating the data pipeline for cross platform data exchange. Throughout the day there will be: (i) presentations by research groups who are pioneering data management in systems, synthetic, and agricultural life-sciences; (ii) networking events so attendees can get to know FAIR platform developers and expert data managers; (iii) training in FAIR data management platforms, including FAIRDOM platforms, and COMBINE standards; (iv) discussions about the future of FAIR and data management within life-sciences. 2018-10-27 09:00:00 UTC 2018-10-27 18:00:00 UTC FAIRDOM ENS Lyon - Site Monod, 46, Allée d'Italie, Lyon, France ENS Lyon - Site Monod, 46, Allée d'Italie Lyon Rhône France Systems biology Data management Systems medicine Bioinformatics University of ManchesterHeidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies Life Science Researchersdata managersdata librariansPhD students, postDoc and PIs in Life Sciences, Biomedicine and Bioinformatics with little or no knowledge of network biology tools, who are interested in learning how to apply such tools in their research.life science industry workshops_and_courses first_come_first_served data managementtrainingexpertise exchangelife scienceslife sciences, bioinformaticsSystems biologySynthetic biologysystems medicinemetadata
