The symposium will bring together some of the most highly regarded Academics and Companies in the world with novel technologies in several sessions, with topics focused on: - Proteomics - Protein Modifications - Single Domain and Recombinant Antibody tools - Next-Generation Affinity Reagents - Interactomics - Bio-sensing and molecular interactions - Single-Cell technologies - Protein design Catalyzed by VIB’s Technology Scouting team, the Tools and Technologies meetings focus on the front end of innovation and bring together key innovators in selected life sciences research fields. The Next-Generation Antibodies and Protein Analysis conference is set to make another world class meeting, bringing together an exciting selection of top speakers and newly emerged companies. In addition to great scientific and technology program, the conference will provide ample networking opportunities. 2017-10-16 09:00:00 UTC 2017-10-17 17:00:00 UTC VIB Gent ICC, Gent, Belgium Gent ICC Gent Oost-Vlaanderen Belgium 9000 Protein interactions Proteomics Protein modifications Protein folding, stability and design [] info@vibconferences.be Absolute Antibody PerkinElmer Abcam BioConnect BioRadGenscriptMerck Macs Miltenyi Biotec ThermoFisher PhD studentsindustryAcademicsPost-Docs meetings_and_conferencesreceptions_and_networking first_come_first_served protein sequence analysisProtein identificationProteinsantibodiesinteractomicsSingle Cell technologies
  • EMBO Practical Course Tree building: Advanced concepts and practice of phylogenetic analysis

    24 - 29 September 2018

    Faro, Portugal

EMBO Practical Course Tree building: Advanced concepts and practice of phylogenetic analysis https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/embo-practical-course-tree-building-advanced-concepts-and-practice-of-phylogenetic-analysis The use of phylogenetic methods to reconstruct the evolutionary history of molecular sequences is a vital part of biological research. These methods underpin studies on the evolution and epidemiology of plant and animal parasites and disease-causing organisms, and more generally they allow an objective analysis of the patterns and processes generating biological diversity. To carry out phylogenetic analysis properly, it is necessary to have a good understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the key methods and approaches. This EMBO Practical Course has been designed to provide the theoretical and practical skills needed to carry out state-of-the-art phylogenetic analyses. The past few years have seen have an explosion in new methods of analysis including the application of Bayesian analysis methods, the development of improved non-stationary models that better represent the dynamics of sequence evolution, the application of population genetic theory to phylogenies through the use of multispecies coalescent, and the development of methods for high-throughput genome-wide analyses. This EMBO Practical Course has been designed to cater for these newest methods and for understanding how they relate to the more traditional methods. Our goal is to teach technical sophistication without losing sight of the need for a critical attitude to data and analyses. 2018-09-24 09:00:00 UTC 2018-09-29 16:00:00 UTC Cymon J. • Translational Immunology

    26 - 27 March 2020

    Gent, Belgium

    Elixir node event
Translational Immunology https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/translational-immunology The aim of this conference is to bridge the translational gap in immunopathology, bringing together clinicians, research scientists and industry partners to discuss prominent advances from the bench to the clinic. The different sessions will have a particular focus on precision medicine in general, starting from disease-oriented cases and lessons learned. Innovative and alternative therapeutic strategies in immune-mediated disorders will be presented, besides the regulatory challenges that companies and researchers are dealing with. • Genome Engineering and Synthetic Biology (4th edition)

    10 - 11 September 2020

    Gent, Belgium

    Elixir node event
Genome Engineering and Synthetic Biology (4th edition) https://tess.elixir-europe.org/events/genome-engineering-and-synthetic-biology-4th-edition Genome Engineering and Synthetic Biology are revolutionizing Life Sciences. Driven by advances in the CRISPR-toolbox for rapid, cheap, multiplex modification of genomes and breakthroughs in DNA synthesis technologies, the pace of progress enabled by these tools in the last years has been breathtaking. The first three editions (September 2013, January 2016, January 2018) were a roaring success and we are pleased to announce the 4th edition of GESB in beautiful Ghent in September, 2020. Travel Grants We offer 5 travel grants to international attendees, which will reimburse travel costs up to 400 Euros. Are you interested in attending GESB20 and want to have a chance on a travel grant? Submit your motivation below by clicking on the 'Apply for a grant' button before 4 June 2020. The organizing committee will notify you of your travel grant acceptance by the end of June. No registration is needed before submitting a travel grant proposal. When you’re awarded with a travel grant you will receive a practical email containing the next steps. Note that being awarded a travel grant does not mean being registered for the conference. Scroll down to apply for your grant.
