Integrative Bioinformatics 2019

International Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics 2019

September 18-20 2019, Paris, France

One of the current challenges faced by the scientific community is to develop knowledge from the sharply increasing wealth of data produced in particular by high throughput technologies (genomics, phenomics, etc…). The Integrative Bioinformatics symposium aims at exchanging knowledge and experiences about the key science and technology strategies that allow integrating, aligning and modeling heterogenous types of big data to generate knowledge about complex biological systems. The topics explored are the following:

  • Big Data:Large-scale systems for text and graph analysis, knowledge discovery and data mining, optimization, tool integration and workflow systems, novel algorithmic and statistical techniques for big data.
  • Data Science:Methods for analysing biological data, networks, time series; mining sequences, omics data, protein structures and functions, gene regulatory networks, genotype to phenotype data.
  • Foundations:Databases and data warehouses, biological ontologies, linked data; models and algorithms; relational/structured learning, deep learning, manifold learning; classification, clustering, regression; visualization.

The Integrative Bioinformatic Symposium is a annual international event that gather several key actors of the data integration domain:

  • computer scientists developing solutions for big data management and exploration including text and graph analysis, linked data and integration based on Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Researchable (FAIR) datasets, knowledge discovery and data mining, tool integration and workflow systems, algorithmic and statistics.
  • Communities using these approaches to meet their specific challenges including European Infrastructures like Elixir and Emphasis, WheatIS of the Wheat Initiative or the international Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution.
