EMBL-EBI Workshop: Network Analysis with Cytoscape and PSICQUIC

This module provides an introduction to the theory and concepts of network analysis. Attendees will learn how to construct protein-protein interaction networks and subsequently use these to analyse large-scale datasets generated these to by techniques such as RNA-Seq or mass-spec proteomics. The course will focus on giving attendees hands-on experience in the use of Cytoscape and selected network analysis apps.

Who is this course for?

This workshop is aimed at researchers interested in proteins, network analysis, protein-protein interactions and related areas. Those who are graduate students, postdocs and staff members from the University of Cambridge, affiliated institutions and other external Institutions or individuals, are invited to apply. Basic knowledge of interaction data resources and techniques is recommended.

Please be aware that these courses are only free for registered University of Cambridge students. All other participants will be charged a registration fee in some form. Registration fees and further details regarding the charging policy are available here.

Further details regarding eligibility criteria are available here.

What will I learn?

Learning outcomes

After this course participants should be able to:

  • Access interaction data from Cytoscape and build a network
  • Use a variety of analysis apps within Cytoscape: BINGO, MCODE, ClueGO...)
  • Analyse a large dataset
