Department of Bioinformatics - BiGCaT, Maastricht University https://tess.elixir-europe.org/content_providers/department-of-bioinformatics-bigcat-maastricht-university The department of Bioinformatics-BiGCaT is part of NUTRIM the school of Nutrition and Translational Research in Metabolism at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. It was founded in 2001 by Prof. dr. Chris Evelo aiming at employing bioinformatics approaches in systems biology to integrate experimental data and data with current knowledge. Integrative Systems Biology is being developed and applied in various research fields. The department has four core research areas; 1) Metabolic diseases, 2) Micronutrients, 3) Toxicity and risk Assessment and 4) Rare diseases. Within these areas different types of data, like transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and (epi)genomics data, are collected , integrated and combined with existing knowledge /system/content_providers/images/000/000/093/original/logo_05_72dpi.gif?1528366508

Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) https://tess.elixir-europe.org/content_providers/barcelona-supercomputing-center-bsc BSC is at the service of the international scientific communιty and of industry that requires HPC resources. Our multidisciplinary research team and our computational facilities –including MareNostrum– make BSC an international centre of excellence in e-Science. Since its establishment in 2005, BSC has developed an active role in fostering HPC in Spain and Europe as an essential tool for international competitiveness in science and engineering. The centre manages the Red Española de Supercomputación (RES), and is a hosting member of the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) initiative. We actively participate in the main European HPC initiatives, in close cooperation with other European supercomputing centres. With a total staff of more than 500 R&D experts and professionals, BSC has been successful in attracting talent, and our research focuses on four fields: Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Computer Applications in Science and Engineering. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/636/original/BSC-blue-large.jpg?1632400405
